HEATHCOTE bowler Brian Taylor was part of the winning team in the inaugural Annabelle Cleeland Classic Fours, held at Parliament House last month.<\/p>\n
Bowlers from Seymour, Violet Town, Nagambie, Benalla, Euroa, Heathcote, Seymour VRI, Murchison, Swanpool and<\/p>\n
Avenel competed over two games of eight ends.<\/p>\n
“The only two game winners were the combination of Shayne and Sarah Mathieson from Swanpool, Bill Sargood (Euroa) and Brian Taylor from Heathcote,” said Peter Cunningham.<\/p>\n
“Runners-up were Ian Cashill and Jane Wilson from Seymour VRI, and Leanne Russel Jones and Harry Daley from Violet Town.”<\/p>\n
Mr Cunningham organised the event with Melissa Mathieson and said they were delighted with the day.<\/p>\n
“As was Annabelle,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Twenty-four bowlers played in perfect conditions in an informal atmosphere with teams formed on the spot.<\/p>\n
“Players willingly adapted from changes of format mid-stream to meeting Georgie Crozier, Shadow Minister for Health, and Gaelle Broad Member for Northern Victoria. “A delightful lunch on the terrace and an enlightening tour of Parliament House all combined for a relaxed, fun-filled day.<\/p>\n
Ms Cleeland, Nationals Member for Euroa, provided a bus to pick up the players from Seymour.<\/p>\n
