Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Through Feathers &amp; Fluff, Ms Mitchelson offers nail trimming, ear cleaning, post-operative checks and suture removals, and new puppy and kitten owner education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can also administer medication prescribed by vets, wound cleaning and anal gland treatments,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I\u2019m available for triage advice as in some situations pet owners are unsure of the best course of action and if an emergency visit to the vet is needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany people are finding it hard with rising living costs and at least I can save them having to travel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Mitchelson said that most of her patients have been dogs, with some cats and a few birds needing their wings clipped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first larger animal I treated was a goat with a large burst abscess on its face.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was very messy, but I was able to clean it up and advise the owners to see the vet for antibiotics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goat has completely recovered now and doing fine.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/05\/Biancabird_79128.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"1300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Feathered friends: Birds are not forgotten and Feathers &amp; Fluff is available for wing-clipping and other services. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes I have people moving into town who are concerned about stress on their pets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can advise about the best ways to transport them to their new homes and how to best settle them in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On her parents\u2019 farm, Ms Mitchelson has plenty of animals to keep her busy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have cows and sheep, lots of chickens, 15 parrots and two dogs.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThey are all very spoilt, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heathcote resident Allison Phillips called on Ms Mitchelson last weekend to check her dog Spot\u2019s cut paw.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBianca provided a fabulous service,\u201d said Ms Phillips. \u201cShe is friendly and well-priced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Spot is rocking his pink bandage!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Feathers &amp; Fluff services Heathcote, Cornella, Toolleen, Tooborac, Colbinabbin, Rochester, Elmore, Kilmore, Costerfield, Lady\u2019s Pass and Bendigo.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone needing Veterinary nurse services or advice can find Feathers &amp; Fluff on Facebook.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With no vet in Heathcote, registered veterinary nurse Bianca Mitchelson started Feathers &amp; Fluff, a mobile veterinary nurse service.
