PYALONG Netball Club was one of four hundred statewide sporting clubs selected for the latest Victorian Sporting Club Grants Program.<\/p>\n
The $1000 State Government grant will go towards the club’s uniform library.<\/p>\n
“We have cupboards in our rooms with uniforms in all sizes,” said club secretary Charleen Warburton.<\/p>\n
“The uniforms are available for players to borrow and, if they have a growth spurt, they can easily change to a different size.<\/p>\n
“With the price of uniforms, it is very important to ease the pressure on families and enable everyone to be able to play.<\/p>\n
“We are very grateful to have received the grant.”<\/p>\n
The Pyalong Netball Club is a junior club and has been running for 21 years.<\/p>\n
“The club is expanding with 60 members coming not only from Pyalong but Heathcote, Kilmore and Tallarook too,” said Ms Warburton.<\/p>\n
“There is one team in Under 9s, two in both Under 11 and 13s, and one in Under 15s.<\/p>\n
“We are very proud of how well all of them are doing and new members are always welcome.<\/p>\n
“There are only four rounds left in the competition and thanks to new court facilities completed last year we will be hosting a final for the first time.<\/p>\n
“Everyone is looking forward to it.”<\/p>\n
Pyalong Netball Club is based at the Pyalong Recreation Reserve on the Northern Highway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
