{"id":96474,"date":"2024-08-05T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-04T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=96474"},"modified":"2024-07-31T22:35:28","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T12:35:28","slug":"riding-high-in-winter-woolies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/riding-high-in-winter-woolies\/","title":{"rendered":"Riding high in winter woolies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HEATHCOTE &amp; District Pony Club held its fourth annual Winter Woolies Show last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The event raised $2000 for the club with a raffle and gate prize.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are very grateful to our sponsors The Barn Pet Stock and Feed, Bendigo Horseland and Ashelle Hair and Beauty Boutique,&#8221; club president Melanie May said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We couldn&#8217;t do it without them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Event classes included Open, Pony Club, Novice, District and Fun Rings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/08\/SophiaonCleo_56147.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sophia and her horse Cleo were awarded second prize.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As well as our club members we had riders from other local pony clubs and individual riders attending,&#8221; Ms May said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everyone had a fantastic day, and we were thrilled with the support from everyone who braved the cold to attend.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The fancy dress class was popular with young riders and their horses were dressed in a variety of costumes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The kids go to a lot of effort and it&#8217;s always great to see,&#8221; Ms May said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/08\/PoppyonLeoponyclub_53230.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Poppy and her horse Leo made a formidable duo in Cruella De Vil inspired outfits.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The next event for the club will be the Freshmans Showjumping Day with the date to be announced soon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;New members are always welcome,&#8221; Ms May said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are a family orientated club with both kids and adults.
