APPLICATIONS are now open for FReeZA 2025-2027, a grants program that helps young people organise affordable drug, alcohol and smoke free festivals, live music events and cultural workshops for Victorians aged 12 to 25.<\/p>\n

Funding of between $45,000 and $120,000 is available over three years to successful applicants including community organisations, local governments, Aboriginal organisations and social enterprises.<\/p>\n

More than 250,000 young people attended over 640 FReeZA-funded events in 2023, ranging from live music to BMX and skate competitions, and dance events to art and short film competitions.<\/p>\n

This follows the recent announcement of the similar Engage! 2025-2027 grants, which engage projects to work with youth to design and deliver activities that they would like to attend themselves, and that they can learn new skills from in the planning process.<\/p>\n

Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman said it’s crucial young people are given the platform to flourish, lead and explore new ways to connect with each other and their local communities.<\/p>\n

“We are continuing to invest in young Victorians, making sure they have the support and opportunities they need to learn, grow and reach their full potential,” she said.<\/p>\n

“FReeZA is about giving (them) the stage they deserve. I’m excited to see them step up, show off their talents and drive the next wave of cultural events.”<\/p>\n

“Don’t miss this chance, apply for FReeZA and help bring their ideas to life in your community.”<\/p>\n
