HEATHCOTE CFA will hold an Open Day and Fire Safety Essentials session tomorrow.<\/p>\n
There will be station tours at 10.30am and 12.30pm and the Fire Safety Essentials Session starts at 11.30 am.<\/p>\n
“With the fire season fast approaching, it’s time to start thinking about property preparation, evacuation plans and what to do in an emergency,” said community safety coordinator Evan Pritchard.<\/p>\n
“We are hosting an Open Day combined with a Fire Safety Essential Session tomorrow.<\/p>\n
“It’s a great opportunity to meet your local Brigade members, tour the station and then listen to a presentation about how to prepare for the upcoming summer fire season.<\/p>\n
“There will be donuts and dim sims for sale and Captain Koala will be there to welcome all the kids.”<\/p>\n
Residents will learn about staying and defending, evacuation essentials, bushfire and pets, and property preparation tips.<\/p>\n
“Beginning in November, Heathcote CFA will again be offering Property Advice Visits for residents,” said Mr Pritchard.<\/p>\n
“Our local volunteer fire brigade has identified properties within Heathcote as having significant fire risk.<\/p>\n
“The brigade can provide a one-on-one free property visit to discuss ways of minimising risk.<\/p>\n
“Residents can learn how to prepare their properties, and plan for bad days and make good decisions.”<\/p>\n
