RETURNED and Services League men paid tribute to the ladies last weekend by hosting a special lunch in their honour.<\/p>\n
The women were treated to a special RSL three-course meal and waited on by the men.<\/p>\n
“The lunch was the initiative of our secretary Michael Carroll,” Heathcote RSL Sub-Branch president Miles Humphrey said.<\/p>\n
“He cooked a very special meal which was served to the ladies by the other men in<\/p>\n
the RSL.<\/p>\n
“We wanted to thank the women for all the work they do in a volunteer capacity. The wives, partners and carers all do a great job, and it is very much appreciated.<\/p>\n
“The lunch was well supported, and we received positive feedback from all who attended.”<\/p>\n
The guest speaker was Euroa MP Annabelle Cleeland, who spoke about her background and the role of women in the Heathcote community.<\/p>\n
