{"id":98019,"date":"2024-12-20T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-19T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=98019"},"modified":"2024-12-17T22:57:17","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T11:57:17","slug":"brewery-concert-backs-lokis-lodge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/brewery-concert-backs-lokis-lodge\/","title":{"rendered":"Brewery concert backs Loki&#8217;s Lodge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PERFORMING country songs, covers, carols and originals, the Gami Gami Devils returned to Palling Bros Brewery last weekend for a special event to raise funds for Loki&#8217;s Lodge animal rescue.<\/p>\n<p>They were joined by Billy Cart Crash in their first performance at Palling Bros Brewery.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We try to bring joy to the community and support a great cause,&#8221; John Longley aka Babyface Gami said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have been performing at Palling Bros since 2018 and this is our second fundraiser for Loki&#8217;s Lodge. We think what Danielle [Press] is doing is amazing.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/12\/GamiChristmas5_51809.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"433\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Gami Gami Devils have been performing regularly at Palling Bros Brewery since 2018.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The whole community is behind her and really respect what she does.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Press started Loki&#8217;s Lodge eight years ago and is caring for about 200 animals on her property.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the past year we have rehomed 98 animals and our feed bill is huge so I really appreciate what the Gami Gami Devils and Billy Cart Crash have done,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It will make a difference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would also like to thank the community for all their support and Peter Pichut from Palling Bros who generously allows us to use the venue.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Raffle prizes were drawn and there were two auctions during the afternoon, one for a candlelit dinner at Palling Bros Brewery with a special song written for the winner by the Gami Gami Devils.<\/p>\n<p>The other auction was for a quilt donated by Kaye Mount and the North of the Yarra Quilters Guild.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/12\/GamiChristmasSandraa_54716.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"471\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sandra Kirby and Linda Cornelissen were among the many patron who danced to music by the Gami Gami Devils and Billy Cart Crash.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every year we donate more than 300 quilts to charities, nursing homes and fire victims,&#8221; Ms Mount said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a pleasure to donate them and if there are any other groups who would like a quilt to raffle, they can contact Sandra James on 0459 023 481 and she will get in touch with me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are happy to help where we can.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Babyface Gami thanked everyone for supporting the fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hope everyone will go off now and bring a little peace to our corner of the earth,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just a smile or a handshake can make a difference.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PERFORMING country songs, covers, carols and originals, the Gami Gami Devils returned to Palling Bros Brewery last weekend for a special event to raise funds for Loki&#8217;s Lodge animal rescue.
