SEVENTEEN year six students from Heathcote Primary School celebrated their graduation recently with an afternoon tea with family and friends before an outdoor ceremony.<\/p>\n

The students planned the graduation ceremony with their teachers.<\/p>\n

“They met as a group to brainstorm ideas and collaboratively determine what they wanted their graduation to include,” said HPS principal Carolyn Crowther.<\/p>\n

“On the day they displayed vision boards they created along with a ‘Guess the Baby’ photo board.<\/p>\n

“They entered the graduation through an archway to the song Happy.<\/p>\n

The girls took the opportunity to discard uniforms and dress up.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Each student read a short speech they’d prepared reflecting on their primary school years and future goals.”<\/p>\n

Awards were presented to students from community groups.<\/p>\n

“We are grateful to the groups who supported the students through their generous sponsorship of awards,” said Ms Crowther.<\/p>\n

“The CWA Day, CWA Night, McIvor Mark Lodge and the Lion’s Club for the Frank Muddyman scholarship which was presented by Greg Speirs.<\/p>\n

Each student was presented with a special keepsake bear to be signed by classmates.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

“It was a big week for our graduates with Transition Day where they spent the day as Year 7s at their secondary schools.<\/p>\n

“This was followed by an end of year\/primary school celebration with an excursion to Funfields Adventure Park.<\/p>\n

“No wonder there were some tired, but happy, faces by the end of the week.<\/p>\n
