{"id":98421,"date":"2025-02-03T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-02T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=98421"},"modified":"2025-01-29T23:49:54","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T12:49:54","slug":"tennis-sessions-sure-to-be-a-hit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/tennis-sessions-sure-to-be-a-hit\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennis sessions sure to be a hit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HOT Shots junior tennis will start again this Sunday at Heathcote Tennis Club.<\/p>\n<p>Coaches Vicki Carolan, James Villella and Derek Wardrobe will lead the sessions beginning at 3.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hot Shots is suitable for ages 3-11,&#8221; said Ms Carolan. &#8220;We have three groups \u2013 Blue Stage for 3-5 years, Red Stage for 6-8 years and Orange Stage for 8-10 and above.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The sessions run for 45 minutes. Hot Shots is a great activity for both children and parents and a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is really good to see the parents, especially for those new to the town, watching the sessions, getting to know each other and making connections.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Often the adults stay on and have a hit after the kids have finished.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Volunteer coaches are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If there are no volunteers it doesn&#8217;t happen,&#8221; said Ms Carolan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t have a tennis background but have participated in and coached other sports.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I had a fun childhood with my parents always encouraging me to participate in various sports and now I like to give the same to others.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It all helps to benefit the wider Heathcote community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hot Shots is free for tennis club members, and it is only $10 for a junior membership.<\/p>\n<p>For further information text Vicki Carolan on 0419 309 296 or email <a href=\"mailto:heathcotetennisclub@gmail.com\">heathcotetennisclub@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HOT Shots junior tennis will start again this Sunday at Heathcote Tennis Club.
