CALLING of vote cards for the Brownlow as Heathcote\u2019s best pennant player in weekend and midweek pennant will be held this Saturday in the clubrooms from 6pm.<\/p>\n
The Brownlow will follow two crucial matches in Saturday\u2019s finale to the home-and-away series in weekend pennant.<\/p>\n
Heathcote will be on home turf in the division three match against Woodbury.<\/p>\n
The ladder-leading Saints will be keen to strike back after a one-shot loss at Eaglehawk last Saturday.<\/p>\n
In a match played in cold and windy conditions it was the Hawks who beat the Saints, 80-79.<\/p>\n
Chris Morcom\u2019s rink made a slow start and trailled by 12 shots after 10 ends against Sharon Hill.<\/p>\n
Morcom\u2019s line-up then won the next six ends to draw level.<\/p>\n
Although it won the final end, Morcom\u2019s rink was beaten 24-20.<\/p>\n
Bill Gardiner was level with the Jennifer O\u2019Shea-skipped rink after six ends.<\/p>\n
The Saints won the next four ends and held on for a 21-19 victory.<\/p>\n
Maurice Lee\u2019s rink won the first three ends against Dawn Gibbs.<\/p>\n
In an even match scores were level on the 14th and 20th end.<\/p>\n
The Gibbs-skipped rink from Eaglehawk won the final end to clinch a 16-15 result.<\/p>\n
Adam Luxford\u2019s rink won the first two ends and scores were level by the 11th end against Janet Robertson.<\/p>\n
Although beaten on the final end, Luxford won 18-16.<\/p>\n
In division six, Heathcote climbed into the top four after a four-shot win at home against North Bendigo.<\/p>\n
The Saints beat the Bulldogs, 57-53.<\/p>\n
Brian Berger\u2019s rink won seven of the first eight ends and held a 13-shot buffer after 14 ends against John Emerson.<\/p>\n
Although beaten on the last four ends, Berger won 20-15.<\/p>\n
Beaten on the opening two ends by Sharon Bryan\u2019s rink, Ray Anderson fought back to level scores on the 11th end.<\/p>\n
The Saints were beaten on three of the last four ends as Bryan won 23-20.<\/p>\n
Scores in the Denis Kilner and Darren Henson match were level on the 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th ends.<\/p>\n
Shots and ends were shared as Kilner clinched a 17-15 victory.<\/p>\n
The Saints make their way to Golden Square this Saturday for a must-win match.<\/p>\n
The club\u2019s men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles championships will be played this Sunday from 10am.<\/p>\n
Excessive heat meant last Wednesday\u2019s social bowls was cancelled.<\/p>\n
