WHILE volunteers at Courthouse Crafts were sad to see the closing of the doors at the premises they have occupied for thirty-two years, they are looking forward to a new beginning.<\/p>\n

The popular craft co-op will be moving to new premises in the former McIvor Times building next to Palling Bros Brewery.<\/p>\n

“Although it was a sad day in many ways, we had great sales with lots of residents coming down to see us,” said Christine Raniolo.<\/p>\n

“Now we are faced with the task of moving everything and we hope to be in the new premises at the end of next month. “It won’t be an easy task, but we are grateful for all the offers of help.<\/p>\n

With crafts supplies, old wares and gifts, there is always something for locals at Courthouse Crafts.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

“We looked at a lot of possible properties after we found out we could no longer stay but they all had high rent and as a non-profit organisation we couldn’t do it.”<\/p>\n

The new premises has been made available by Palling Bros owner Peter Pichut.<\/p>\n

“We are very grateful for the low-cost rent,” said Ms Raniolo. “And, for the first time, we will have running water and a toilet on site.<\/p>\n

“We are looking at the move as a new beginning and a chance to stand on our own two feet.<\/p>\n

“Perhaps it will be a blessing in disguise.”<\/p>\n
