A HOT day in the high thirties didn’t keep the Elmore Tractor Pull down last weekend.<\/p>\n

The event was run by Elmore Field Days, in conjunction with the Down Under Modified Tractor Pulling Association.<\/p>\n

“Despite the heat, we had a good crowd,” said executive manager of Elmore Field Days, Derek Shotton.<\/p>\n

“I don’t have the final figures, but I would estimate it was 65 to 70 per cent of what we had last year and that was a record attendance.<\/p>\n

“I spoke to the president of the Down Under Tractor Pulling Association and he was over the moon with how it all went.<\/p>\n

“They have already booked again in for next year.”<\/p>\n

Spectators enjoyed a range of food and drink options, a display of trucks and activities for children as well as the action on the track.<\/p>\n

Anthony, from Shepparton, who attended with daughter Eliza said it was a good event.<\/p>\n

“This is the first time I have been to the Elmore Tractor Pull but I have attended quite a few others and this one is great.”<\/p>\n

The future of the event looks good with future upgrades planned.<\/p>\n

“During the past year we improved facilities and spectators were able to relax in the shade of the shelter belts with cool, moist lawn to sit on,” said Mr Shotton.<\/p>\n

“Many people brought gazebos and others relaxed on hay bales.<\/p>\n

“Over the coming year we are planning more upgrades to the track and facilities, and it promises to be an even bigger event.”<\/p>\n

The Elmore Tractor Pull began at the Elmore Field Days site in 1976, the first event of its kind in Australia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
