SPECULATIVE fiction writer Alyce Elmore together with The Barn Pet Stock and Feed will host a day of literature, poetry and art on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The event will feature local artists with readings, music, coffee, food, snow cones, wine tastings books for sale and book signings.<\/p>\n
“What started as a book launch for my third book, For Where There Are Harps, has become a festival of the arts with entertainment, food and drinks and, of course, lots of artists,” Elmore said.<\/p>\n
“Anyone looking for a fun day out can come and join in the fun.”<\/p>\n
Elmore writes mostly speculative fiction.<\/p>\n
“I became an avid reader long before becoming a writer,” she said.<\/p>\n
“My love affair with the written word started young and has only grown stronger over the years.<\/p>\n
“The stories I’ve read have taken me to places familiar and exotic.<\/p>\n
“They have introduced me to lifelong friends and frightened me with their villains.<\/p>\n
“They have made me appreciate the best of times and supported me through the worst.”<\/p>\n
Keen supporters of the local writer, Sharon and William Greenfield, will host the event at their pet and stock supplies business at 62\u201376 Kilmore Road, Heathcote.<\/p>\n
“We both love Alyce’s writing and want to support local writers,” Ms Greenfield said.<\/p>\n
“The store will be closed to usual trade and dedicated to a fantastic day for local artists.”<\/p>\n
