HEATHCOTE Community House will soon have a new heating and cooling split system for its enclosed outdoor room.<\/p>\n
The system will be an asset to the house activities with many groups utilising the outdoor room.<\/p>\n
“Although the weather has been getting colder lately, we have been blessed with warm sunshine to heat the area,” said executive officer Vicki Forde.<\/p>\n
“But the area gets very cold in winter and hot in summer.<\/p>\n
“The split system will be a huge asset to our activities.<\/p>\n
“It is important for participants to be comfortable when attending groups and classes, and inclement weather often sees numbers drop.<\/p>\n
“Heathcote Community House has outgrown its space and currently many of our activities are held off-site.<\/p>\n
“This system will help us to keep this space cosy or cooled, allowing us all to continue engagement in activities.<\/p>\n
“We are hoping it will be installed in the next two weeks.”<\/p>\n
The outdoor activities room was developed before the pandemic with a grant from the national Stronger Regions Fund.<\/p>\n
“With the grown in Heathcote’s population we are hoping to attract more funding to enable us to build a larger activities room,” said Ms Forde.<\/p>\n
