VOLUNTEERS at Heathcote Health enjoyed afternoon tea with Aged Care residents last week to celebrate Volunteers Week.<\/p>\n
National Volunteer Week 2025 celebrated the power of volunteering to bring people together with the theme Connecting Communities.<\/p>\n
Volunteers at Heathcote Health work in various areas at the facility including aged care and meals on wheels.<\/p>\n
Each volunteer was presented with a thank you certificate, a pen, bookmark and badge.<\/p>\n
“Volunteers are crucial to many aspects of what we do at Heathcote Health,” said aged care corporate services manager Andrew Walker.<\/p>\n
“Meals on Wheels wouldn’t survive without our volunteers and we appreciate the time all volunteers spend at Heathcote Health.<\/p>\n
“We were glad to acknowledge their efforts with afternoon tea and celebrate the impact volunteers have.<\/p>\n
“Our residents really enjoyed the afternoon, the delicious afternoon tea prepared by our kitchen staff and chatting with the volunteers.”<\/p>\n
Volunteer Sandra Runagall helps to deliver Meals on Wheels and walks with aged care residents and Heathcote Community House volunteers every Friday.<\/p>\n
“It was a very nice afternoon,” she said. “Everyone was welcoming, and it was great to get feedback.<\/p>\n
“I really enjoyed chatting with the residents and other volunteers, and the afternoon tea was delicious.<\/p>\n
“I really enjoy volunteering and would recommend it to everyone.”<\/p>\n
