THERE was a buzz of excitement as Ikigai Community Care officially opened its doors last week.<\/p>\n

Founder and director, Leanne Slee, said she was thrilled after many years of planning the centre.<\/p>\n

“We were overwhelmed with joy to welcome so many friendly faces into our new space,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Locals, families, friends, and curious passersby all popped in for a chat and to discover what we’re all about.<\/p>\n

“The open day was more than just a celebration, it was a chance for the community to see firsthand how we support people living with a disability in creative, empowering, and meaningful ways.<\/p>\n

“It was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.<\/p>\n

“We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to those who helped make this special day, and our beautiful new space, possible.<\/p>\n

“A huge thank you to Tom Tobin and Marcus Slee for their incredible work on the shop fit-out. Their hard work and vision brought our dream to life.<\/p>\n

“Also, thanks to our amazing staff rolled up their sleeves and offered extra hands in the lead-up and throughout the day.<\/p>\n

“And to the parents and families who support us and believe in what we do, we are so grateful. You help make Ikigai feel like a second home.”<\/p>\n

Ms Slee said as the centre grows, programs will continue to evolve, shaped by the passions and potential of clients.<\/p>\n

“Our new shop is a reflection of this,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Everything we create inside the space is part of a journey, learning new skills, building confidence, and creating products with heart and purpose.<\/p>\n

“From handcrafted gifts to homegrown ideas, every item tells a story of inclusion, capability, and community.<\/p>\n

“We’re also proud to now be stockists for a number of wonderful local and surrounding businesses, including Glen Rich, Myles Gray, Butterfly Stitches, and Me and Co.<\/p>\n

“Collaborating with these businesses not only enriches our offerings but also strengthens the sense of connection and shared purpose within our wider community.<\/p>\n

“If anyone would like to learn more about how NDIS plans can work for you or someone you love, we warmly invite you to pop in for a chat. We are always here to help make things clearer and more personal.<\/p>\n

“Our doors are always open, so please come in, say hello, and see what Ikigai is all about.”<\/p>\n
