Annual Open Art Awards set to go on show
The South East Art Society’s annual Open Art Awards will be on display at Millicent Civic & Arts Centre next month.
Society president Julieanne Woodruff said last year saw 195 entries at the Riddoch Gallery and they’d like even more this year.
“Let the walls be a riot of colour and creativity,” she said. “There’s so much talent in the South East. It’s our mission to foster their development and show off their work. If their work sells, they’re on their way as professional artists!”
All artists are encouraged to enter. Categories include painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, photography, textiles, digital, NDIS and schoolies. There will be thirteen cash prizes with the major prize winner taking home $2000.
The exhibition will be open for a full month from September 15. Millicent Gallery is in Ridge Street, behind the library.
Artists can register their entries until September 2. They have until Saturday, September 10, to deliver their work. Enter online at https://seas.org.au/open-art-awards-2024/ or phone the secretary for paperwork on 0434 873 166.
