Another successful dance fundraiser
Organisers of the 2024 Swinging with the Stars might be catching their breath but as the dust settles on the Stand Like Stone Foundation annual major fundraiser, they could not be happier with a record fundraising haul that was just shy of $140,000, including Bec Hurst breaking the long standing individual fundraising record set by Grant Fensom with her more than $52,000.
Kezia Feast and her dance partner Andrew Lockwood emerged victorious after a night of stunning performances, while Bec Hurst was crowned the People’s Choice Winner given her astonishing fundraising tally.
The 8 local ‘stars’ had spent the past few months learning four dance routines under the tutelage of Kim Cella and Keana Soper from Hype Dance, all while raising awareness and funds for the foundation.
Stand Like Stone Foundation CEO Roger Babolka said the event was another incredible success.
“Kim Cella has again choreographed the dances for the night, and I think everyone was blown away with the standard of the routines this year, with the judges finding it very difficult to decide,” Mr Babolka said. “The support this event receives from a wide range of local businesses and individuals year after year is unbelievable and goes a long way in making the whole night the success it continues to be.”
