Business awards return

Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce and Women In Business and Regional Development join forces

They have been absent from our calendar for a few years now but 2023 will see the return of a business awards scheme – the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce (some board members & staff pictured top right) and Women In Business and Regional Development joining forces to reimagine the categories and criteria to freshen up the concept.

Women in Business and Regional Development chair Jacinta Jones (pictured below right) said the new look awards scheme sat comfortably within the framework of both organisations.

“Close to the hearts of both organisations is the mission to champion and celebrate local businesses and to build the strength and profile of our community on a local, state and national level,” Mrs Jones said. “The Business Awards 2023 are an awards program that recognises the significant contributions made by our business community to our region’s culture, as well as social and economic growth.

“For the business community, it is a chance to celebrate one another’s achievements. For the wider community, it is an opportunity to acknowledge the courageous, creative and purpose-led business owners who, collectively, continue to transform our city.”

Nominations for the 2023 Business Awards were officially opened last week, and nominations have already flooded in for many of the award categories.

Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce and Women In Business and Regional Development are partnering with Regional Development Limestone Coast, Business SA, Southern Cross Austero [SAFM & Triple M], Community Bank Mount Gambier & District – Bendigo Bank, Mount Glass & Glazing, WiBRD Foundation and creative partner thir.teen street to put the new look event together.

The award gala has been set for Friday, August 18 at The Barn.

The nomination process has been kept simple and includes two ways to nominate; nominate another business or individual, or nominate your own business or self, with the considered award categories covering both businesses and individuals.
