Mount Gambier High School celebrated the Class of 2024, marking the end of an era with both formal events and plenty of light-hearted fun.

In addition to organised school gatherings, students added their own spirited touch to their last week of formal lessons, creating daily themed activities and providing entertainment for the entire school community.

The festivities began with a heartfelt Farewell Assembly at the end of last month, where the Class of 2024 gathered for reflections on their time at Mount Gambier High School.

On Tradie Tuesday, students arrived dressed in high-vis work wear, hard hats, and tool belts, impressing everyone with their authentic tradesperson looks and even leaving the Business Manager doing double-takes.

Wednesday saw a cosy twist with Wake-Up-Late Wednesday, as students arrived in pyjamas and brought anything but a school bag swapping their usual backpacks for creative alternatives.

As the week continued, students got nostalgic on Throwback Thursday, recreating favourite photos from their younger years.

The impressive efforts brought smiles all around, and the Senior School team added to the celebrations by hosting a morning tea complete with a Class of 2024 Celebration Cake.

Later, students faced off against teachers in a lively netball match, with the staff securing one last victory over the graduating class.

The final day kicked off with a traditional breakfast at the Mount Gambier RSL, followed by a spirited Scavenger Hunt.

Students arrived dressed in vibrant costumes, embracing one last chance to have fun together before exams and final assessments.

Head of Senior School Samantha Brown said the week was filled with laughter and camaraderie, but also the realisation that the students’ time at Mount Gambier High School is drawing to a close.

“As they prepare for the next chapter, we reflect on the remarkable journey they’ve had and the growth they’ve shown over the years,” she said. “On behalf of the Mount Gambier High School community, we extend our warmest congratulations to the Class of 2024. We are incredibly proud of the confident, capable young adults they’ve become and look forward to seeing them all achieve great things.”
