Clifford & Goode combine for 2-4-2 victory

The 2-4-2 competition at the Millicent Bowls Club on August 10 saw 32 players take to the green and with even numbers registering there were no triples teams. Although we had a couple of light showers of rain through the day it wasn’t heavy enough to hold up play.

Before going out to play President Steve Carnellor informed players that the Ladies and Men’s Championship Fours date has been changed to December 10 with entries closing off December 7. There will also be an Open Meeting for all members after the 2-4- 2 game on September 21.

The winning pair for that week went to Denis Clifford and Brian Goode with a very good score of 36+27 only losing 4 of the 20 ends played. Runners up for the day with a score of 35+28 went to Eddie Hann and Peter Varcoe only losing 5 of the 20 ends played. Other winning teams for the day were Terry Barnes, Joy Warren 34+17. Steve Skeer, Peter Scanlon 33+20. Sam Schofield, John Scudds 32+6. Ros Varcoe, John Buhlmann 32+0 Peter Dunnicliff, Neil Whelan 31+2 and Pat Woolston, Lyn Scudds 31+1.
