Collaborative community project
A new initiative, Kindred Connections, is set to launch in Mount Gambier, bringing together local charitable organisations, service clubs, and church and community groups for a common goal – building a resilient, connected community.
This exciting project is proudly sponsored by Community Bank Mount Gambier & District branch of Bendigo Bank, reflecting their ongoing commitment to fostering community development and support through their community investment grants program.
Kindred Connections aims to create a platform where community groups can regularly interact, share insights, and work together towards common goals. This volunteer-driven initiative is designed to help organisations maximize their impact, overcome challenges, and ensure that the needs of the Mount Gambier community are met effectively.
Why “Kindred Connections” Matters:
• Maximize Your Impact: Share your mission, goals, and activities to amplify your reach.
• Build Stronger Ties: Engage with other groups, share resources, and create meaningful collaborations.
• Stay in the Loop: Keep up with local events and community needs.
• Strengthen Community Resilience: Join forces to address challenges head-on and build a supportive network.
Kindred Connections is being hosted by In Home Hospice Care Inc and is more than just a networking opportunity; it’s about building a resilient and resourceful community where everyone works together for the greater good.
The program is expected to be self-sustaining, driven by the collective efforts of its participants, ensuring its viability beyond any initial funding.
In Home Hospice Care manager Sandi Elliott said they believe by coming together, we can achieve more and create lasting positive change in our community.
“This initiative is all about empowering local organisations to collaborate, share, and support one another in meaningful ways,” Sandi said.
The funding provided by Community Bank Mount Gambier & District underscores their dedication to supporting local initiatives that build stronger, more connected communities.
The initial Kindred Connections meeting is to be held at UniSA Mount Gambier campus on September 19 at 10am.
