Community funding on offer
SPORTING clubs and community groups across the District Council of Grant are invited to apply for up to $5000 co-funding through the newly opened Community Grants Scheme.
District Council of Grant Mayor Kylie Boston said the scheme is envisaged to enable community projects and events that enhance wellbeing and increase participation in social and leisure activities.
“This funding will allow local clubs and groups to deliver meaningful projects that help people connect, stay active, and feel supported,” Mayor Boston said.
“Whether you’re planning a community event or infrastructure upgrades, Council can help bring these to life through the Community Grants Scheme which is now open.”
Three grant categories are available to incorporated not-for-profit organisations:

50% Council | 50% applicant
Sporting Clubs
Maximum $3,000

Community Participation
Maximum $500

Projects considered under the Community Grants Scheme include, but are not limited to:
• Safety/security enhancements;
• Amenity upgrades;
• Infrastructure and facility renovations;
• Community events promoting inclusion and connection; and
• Implementation of club programs.
District Council of Grant chief executive officer Darryl Whicker said the scheme contributes to the building of stronger communities within the district.
“Council supports best practice in Community Development by supporting community groups resilience to build on their capacities and strengths to learn, grow and innovate,” Mr Whicker said.
“We are pleased to provide this new round of community grants which better assists our community groups to develop their organisations and increase social participation. I encourage interested parties to review the Community Grants Scheme guidelines.
“Grant applications will be assessed on a rolling basis. Projects with merit will be awarded as they are received, therefore early applications are vital.”
