Community projects can access funding
Community organisations working within the Glenelg Shire and dedicated to enhancing the well-being of residents in the areas of health, education, and financial stability are invited to apply for grants from United Way Glenelg (UWG).
A total of $65,000 has been allocated for the Community Fund and the Lewis Court Fund, providing crucial financial support for eligible groups working to create positive change in the community.
United Way Glenelg executive officer Nicole Carr emphasised the importance of these grants in strengthening local initiatives.
“These grants empower local organisations to make a real difference in the lives of Glenelg Shire residents. – health, education, and financial stability are the cornerstones of a thriving community, and we are proud to support projects that address these critical areas,” Ms. Carr said.
She further acknowledged the generous individuals who make these grants possible.
“The Community Fund is sustained by individuals who contribute regularly through our Workplace Giving Program, ensuring that donations remain local and directly benefit the community. Meanwhile, the Lewis Court Fund continues to provide vital support through the strategic investment of a dedicated corpus,” she said.
UWG encourages community groups to explore funding opportunities that align with their work and to reach out for guidance before submitting an application.
“We strongly encourage applicants to discuss their projects with us before applying. This ensures their initiatives align with our funding priorities and maximises their chances of success,” Ms. Carr said.
The grant application period is open until February 28.
