THE Mount Gambier Eisteddfod Dance division ran for a record nine day run, with competitors from local schools joined by performers from Adelaide and Ararat creating a hive of activity at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre.

Acting Director of Dance Maxine Chalinor said there was a friendly atmosphere this year and all the volunteer workers were impressed with the behaviour overall, receiving so much positive feedback from the visiting schools many stating they will return in the next few years.

Sydney based adjudicator Christopher Favaloro was impressed with the overall talent on display over the course of the competition, and, in particular, with the high-quality troupe work.

Positive feedback was received on his adjudication from teachers, competitors and parents, while the committee also enjoyed the working relationship with Mr Favaloro.

Backstage Incorporated, producers of the Mount Gambier Eisteddfod, are grateful to all their sponsors and volunteers, including major sponsor the City of Mount Gambier and the volunteer help of the Lions of Blue Lake City Lioness.

Major Dance winners were Holly Allison for the Sir Robert Helpmann Trophy, Ava McMurtie for the Junior Zelda Parker Scholarship and Mia Spong for the Senior Zelda Parker Scholarship.
