Donations sought for Christmas event

Preparations are well underway for the annual Mt Gambier Christmas Community lunch to be held at the Mount Gambier City Hall on December 25.

This will be the 12th year providing a meal and festivities for isolated, disadvantaged and financially distressed members of our community.

The food will be prepared by chef Carrie and served by volunteers, who also help in the food preparation and clean up.

Last year 170 people which included about 30 children and due to the current economic conditions organisers are expecting more families to attend this year.

As well as a three-course meal, participants will enjoy entertainment and receive gift bags.

The organising committee will again be asking the community to support in the collection of shampoo, conditioner, soap , toothpaste, tooth brush and deodorant for the gift bags.

Collection points will be Mt Gambier Golf Club and Bendigo Bank.
