Edie comes up with winning design

Eight-year-old student Edie Sunderland, from Millicent’s Newbery Park Primary School, has designed one of the four successful artworks set to appear on Member for Barker Tony Pasin’s 2023 Christmas cards.

The 82,000 cards sent out by the Federal MP will feature Edie and three other students’ designs after hundreds of entries were received from school students across the electorate.

Barker primary school students were invited to submit artwork that represented Christmas in their local region.

Mr Pasin recently visited Edie to congratulate her and present her with a prize.

“Congratulations to all students who took the time to create artwork and enter the competition,” Mr Pasin said. “There were hundreds of entries, and it was heartwarming to see the excitement for Christmas and the pride for their region reflected in the children’s work.

“I was so pleased to meet Edie recently and provide her with her prize of a box set of coloured pencils to assist her as she pursues her obvious talents.”
