THE District Council of Grant is inviting residents to a series of community meetings to hear updates on key projects and priorities, connect with Elected Members, and go into the draw to win a $150 local dining voucher by registering to attend.

Community members will be able to meet with Council’s Elected Members, Chief Executive Officer, Directors and staff to learn more about current initiatives and plans to support the local community.

Mayor Kylie Boston said the meetings are an important way for Council to keep the community informed and engaged.

“These meetings are a great chance to connect with us, your Elected Members, learn about what’s happening across the district and ask questions about the projects that matter most to you,” Mayor Boston said.

“We want people to feel welcome to come along, whether you’re interested in a specific project or simply want to stay up to date with what Council is working on for our community.”

Four meetings will be held at Council owned facilities beginning at 5:30pm on:

  • Monday 13 October 2025 at the Principal Office, 324 Commercial Street West, Mount Gambier;
  • Monday 27 October 2025 at the Mount Gambier & District Saleyards, Corner of Fairbanks Road and Princes Highway, Glenburnie;
  • Monday 10 November 2025 at the Mount Gambier Regional Airport, Airport Road, Wandilo; and
  • Monday 24 November 2025 at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex, 5-7 Charles Street, Port MacDonnell.

Each meeting will include updates on changes for the new ‘One Council – No Wards’ structure at next year’s local government elections, information on roads and how to report faults, and Council’s progress against the Strategic Plan 2024 – 2034.

Community members will also hear directly from local organisation special guests and gain updates on other key initiatives specific to each location:

  • Principal Office: Updates on the projects within the Inner Townships Master Plan which will shape the future look and feel of some of the district’s townships, streets and community spaces;
  • Saleyards: Progress on the Saleyards Transformation Project ensuring the facility remains modern, efficient and supportive of the local livestock industry;
  • Airport: Plans being actioned within the Mount Gambier Regional Airport Master Plan and the development of the new museum space, celebrating aviation history and enhancing the visitor experience; and
  • Port MacDonnell: Information on the Coastal Adaptation Strategy which looks at how to manage the changing coastline into the future, and the installation of a hearing loop system to make the Community Complex more accessible.

Residents who register and attend a community meeting will go into the draw to win one of four $150 dining vouchers to enjoy at a local eatery of their choice within the District Council of Grant.
