Fallen officer remembered

COMMISSIONER of Police Grant Stevens and SAPOL members joined other dignitaries and the Lucindale community earlier this month to honour and remember Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig, a local police officer who tragically lost his life on duty in November 2023.

A life-sized silhouette and plaque dedicated to Brevet Sergeant Jason Doig was unveiled in Centenary Park, based on a 2013 photo taken alongside a patrol vehicle.

Brevet Sergeant Doig served the Limestone Coast community for more than 10 years and was posthumously awarded the South Australian Police Bravery Medal for saving the lives of two police officer colleagues.

SA Police Legacy, Police Association of Australia, Wall to Wall and Cops 4 Kids have all worked with SAPOL to organise the memorial following an outpouring of donations and support.

He leaves behind a legacy of community service and will forever be remembered for his courage and sacrifice.
