Financing the preservation of history

August 26, 2024 BY

The Penola Town Square Working Group Inc. that set their sights on restoring the pavers at the Penola Town Square Commemorative Walk was one of 10 projects across South Australia awarded funding through the 2023-24 Anzac Day Commemoration Fund.

The Penola project received $16,250 to restore those pavers as part of a $84,677 awarded to community initiatives that honour the legacy of our military history and commemorate Anzac Day.

This year, the Anzac Day Commemoration Fund is once again offering financial support to local ex-service organisations, community groups, schools, and local councils for initiatives that honour the Anzac legacy, with applications for the 2024-25 round now open.

Administered through Veterans SA, the 2024-25 funding round offers a total of $100,000 and can be used to support commemorative services or projects aimed at educating the community on Australia’s military history.

Applications close at 5pm on October 31.
