Funding on offer
Do you need a grant to help you with your community project? If so, the Stand Like Foundation is seeking applications from community groups and not-for-profits based in or servicing the Limestone Coast.
The annual Small Grants round is now open with grants of up to $10,000 available for local projects.
Last year, the Stand Like Stone Foundation awarded more than $107,000 in grants to 18 community-led projects across the region.
Some of the projects funded by the foundation included supporting the Tatiara Men’s Shed with the purchase of equipment, upgrading and maintenance at three community halls, assisting the Southend Progress Association to improve accessibility of Connie’s Walk, the upgrade of studio equipment for Millicent Community Access Radio, through to the purchase of a new lawnmower to help reduce the bushfire and snake risk across the 20acre outdoor Noorla Yo Long youth education facility at Rendelsham.
Stand Like Stone’s CEO Roger Babolka said they had proudly worked in partnership with the region supporting communities right across the Limestone Coast for nearly 20 years.
“As funding for these projects comes directly from the community, it’s everyone who has ever donated to Stand Like Stone that makes these grants possible,” he said.
“Our Small Grants Program enables the foundation to respond to the needs of the people and communities of this region, ensuring local projects receive local support, so we’re certainly encouraging everyone to get on board and apply now,” he said.
The Small Grants are open for applications and close on October 31.
