Tenison Woods College school captain Gael Chizungu has accepted a six month placement volunteering in Kong Poi Per, Cambodia.

She will be spending her time mentoring students from Years 1-12 and providing them with assistance in their studies.

Gael applied for the volunteering position with the Cagliero Project, an organisation that provides overseas volunteer experiences for Australians who wish to work with the disadvantaged and marginalised.

The Cagliero volunteers commit themselves to working in the ‘Salesian Way’.

This means that young people are the central focus in all work and approaching life in a joyful way with a loving heart and this single sentence sums up Gael and the leadership she has displayed throughout her final year of schooling.
