WATTLE Range Council is delighted to announce the return of the ‘Full Throttle in Wattle’ program for the Autumn School Holidays, with a range of exciting and free events for kids of all ages.
“Whether you’re into outdoor adventures, creative workshops, or hands-on activities, there’s something for everyone,” said.
Wattle Range Council community development manager Nicole Croser said these holidays, they are excited to join forces with South Australia Police to host two sessions at the Millicent Road Safety Centre, focusing on pedestrian, cycling safety, and road rules.
The Millicent Library and Gallery is also offering a unique opportunity to explore computer game design and testing at the Digital Hub, including VR experiences and Mario Kart competitions.
Wacky Wednesdays at the Beachport Library is back with a variety of craft activities, while Easter crafting workshops are taking place at K&B Mitre 10 in Millicent.
The fan-favourite Bush Buddies will also be back at the Glencoe Hall – a perfect way to get up close and personal with local wildlife.
One major highlight of the holidays is the annual Rivoli Bay Jetties Junior Fishing Competition. This popular event begins with a free workshop facilitated by the Rivoli Bay Beachport Lions Club where kids can sharpen their fishing skills and receive free fishing equipment.
The workshop will be held at the Beachport Recreation Centre on April 14, from 9 am – 12 pm.
The competition runs until April 21 at the Beachport & Southend Jetties and is supported by local businesses and community groups.
A presentation evening will take place at the Beachport Bowling Club on Wednesday, April 23, where the winners will be celebrated.
The winners of this years’ Rider Safe Competition, rewarding young people in Wattle Range ‘caught’ doing the right thing, will also be announced at this event.
