WATTLE Range Council is set to warm up the winter school holidays with a fun-filled and exciting program of activities for children across the region.

Running from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 20, the ‘Full Throttle in Wattle’ Winter School Holiday Program offers a diverse range of free events designed to keep young minds active and entertained during the break.

From creative workshops and sporting events to magicians, wildlife and storytelling sessions, the program has something for all ages and interests.

Events will take place across the council area, including Millicent, Penola, Beachport, and Rendelsham.

Wattle Range Council’s director development services Emma Clay said the program was a fantastic opportunity for young people to get involved and make the most of the winter break.

“School holidays are a special time for families, and we’re proud to offer a program that’s fun, accessible, and engaging for kids right across the area,” Ms Clay said.

“It’s also a great chance for youth to connect with others, explore their creativity, and try something new close to home.”

The events will be held across the Wattle Range Council area and program highlights include NAIDOC Week weaving activities including a Nunga Screening, craft and art workshops in Millicent and Beachport, and Australian Bush Buddies at the Rendelsham Hall.

“We will also be holding a number of have-a-go sporting events for squash, table tennis and even racquetball sessions,” Ms Clay said. “We are pleased to announce we are partnering with the YMCA Skate Park League to deliver learn to skate sessions in Beachport and Penola.”

The skate workshops are led by experienced instructors to create a fun environment that involves games with a social focus.

“Following the workshops we will be holding a major skate competition at the Millicent Skate Park on Sunday, 20 July, I encourage anyone interested to come down and check it out,” Ms Clay said.

Places for some sessions are limited, and bookings are essential. Full program details, including dates, times, and locations, are available on the Wattle Range Council website at https://www.wattlerange.sa.gov.au/tourism/all-events/school-holiday-activities-in-wattle-range
