Kelpie Muster on the horizon
THE Casterton Kelpie Association is gearing up for what promises to be an extraordinary Australian Kelpie Muster and Premier Working Dog Auction.
With less than a fortnight remaining until the event, the Casterton Kelpie Association (CKA) volunteers are working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that this year’s festival and auction surpass all expectations.
Running from June 7-9, the jam packed program includes a parade, novelty events, art exhibitions and the centrepiece – the 29th Working Dog Auction, which was established by the local Apex Club in 1996, out of the back of a ute.
This prestigious event offers a platform for showcasing Australia’s finest Kelpies Working Dogs while presenting a valuable opportunity for breeders and trainers to connect with potential buyers.
The Kelpie Festival will take place on the Saturday of the King’s Birthday June Long Weekend, an exciting day for the whole family.
From the parade to the auction, from the art exhibition to the novelty events and everything in between, the two day event boasts a wide range of things to see and do.
The festival is a celebration of the remarkable Kelpie breed and Casterton’s claim to fame as the Birthplace of the Kelpie breed and is a testament to the community’s dedication to preserving local heritage and creating an enjoyable experience for attendees from all over Australia.
