Life saving government grant

MEMBER for Barker Tony Pasin MP has delivered $3,000 in Federal Government Funding to the Allendale East Public Hall Committee for the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and other medical equipment thanks to Round 9 of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program.

The new equipment will ensure that life saving equipment is readily available to the local Allendale East community and visitors, should a cardiac emergency arise.

Mr Pasin joined members of the Hall Committee, the Port MacDonnell Ambulance Service, Allandale East Primary School students and members of local Cave Divers Association at a recent training day to receive instruction on using this equipment effectively and safely in an emergency.

In January this year, Member for Barker Tony Pasin MP encouraged non-for-profit organisations and local government organisations in Barker to apply for grants through the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program.

Grants of between $2,500 to $20,000 were available for small but meaningful infrastructure projects encouraging and supporting participation in local initiatives, enhancing community engagement and contributing to the creation of vibrant and sustainable communities.

“I am pleased that the Allendale East Public Hall Committee was successful in their funding application. This equipment is ideally located at the Allendale East Public Hall, for the whole community to access,” Mr Pasin said.

“The Stronger Communities Program was an initiative of the former Coalition Government and since 2015 has provided many organisations across Barker with funding for projects that deliver social benefits for local communities,” Mr Pasin said.
