New wine industry leader
THE Limestone Coast Grape and Wine Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward Cavanagh into the role of executive officer.
After an intensive recruitment process, Dr Cavanagh was interviewed and selected for the role by the council on the basis of his varied experiences in a number of industries.
A relative newcomer to the Limestone Coast region, but with a keen interest in the workings of the Australian wine industry, Ed brings with him years of experience in government departments, universities, and wine businesses.
President Helen Strickland said they had been fortunate to have Ulrich Grey-Smith in this role for many years.
“We wish him every success as he moves into new ventures and we welcome Ed to the role and look forward to the fresh outlook and new perspectives he will bring to the council.,” Ms Strickland said.
Ed’s appointment into the role will be effective from May 9, in time for the next scheduled general meeting of the council in Penola – and with plenty of time ahead to help ensure that the next Limestone Coast Wine Show, which is scheduled for October, will be as successful as previous events.
