Plenty of school holiday fun to be had in Wattle Range

Wattle Range Council ihas announced the summer ‘Full Throttle in Wattle’ school holiday program which will include the reinvigoration of ‘Coastal Connections’.

The exciting schedule of activities, which will be delivered to school aged children across Wattle Range, was outlined by council’s manager libraries and cultural services Janice Nitschke.

“The holiday fun will commence on Saturday, December 17, when we launch the Summer Reading Club program at the Millicent Library with a range of Christmas craft activities,” Mrs Nitschke said.

“During the pre-Christmas week the team at the library have planned a collection of Christmas crafting projects, as well as the ever popular Green Screen, VRs, Nintendo Switch and XBox games.

“During January, they will have Science Fun on Wednesdays along with the suite of innovative technology for all, including augmented reality..

“Outside of the library, other ‘Full Throttle’ activities include tie dying, Come & Try Golf, kite making, leather & beeswax workshops and more.

“The final event will be at the Millicent Swimming Lake, featuring the inflatable obstacle course, live music and games on Wednesday, 25, January 2023.

“Following repeated requests from the community, Wattle Range Council is thrilled to support the return of the former Coastal Connection Program, with Rockpool Rambles and sessions on Indigenous culture, creatures of the night walk, estuary discovery and shorebirds.”
