Bestselling Australian author Fiona Lowe will return to the Mount Gambier Library on Monday, April 8, at 7pm with her latest release The Accident.

Manager library and community development Georgina Davison said the library was thrilled to welcome the popular author back.

“Fiona is a popular writer enjoyed by readers within our local community and her visits are always well received,” she said.

“We have been fortunate enough to host Fiona Lowe previously with recent titles such as Daughter of Mine, Home Fires and last year with her blockbuster novel The Money Club. These titles are thought provoking and triggered by a secret or mystery.”

With nearly 40 other books published since 2006, Fiona’s earlier novels have been praised for their emotional depth, drawing on real life experiences from her earlier career as a midwife, a sexual health counsellor and family support worker.

Recipient of the prestigious USA Rita award and two Australian RUBY awards, Fiona’s writing is relatable as she paints believable characters who are authentically Australian.

Now turning her pen to mystery, lies and scandals, The Accident is set to be another bestseller.

Two couples are days away from celebrating an upcoming wedding when a car crash turns their world apart. With the friends grieving over the death of one of their own, they are left with disturbing details surrounding the accident and discover a thread of lies and deceit.

Covering many challenging issues, both ethical and moral, The Accident is a page turner already receiving five star reviews.

This is a free event. Supper will be provided and books will be available for sale and signing. Contact Mount Gambier Library at (08)8721 2540 or book your seat online via the library’s website.

Geelong-based Fiona will also be the star of the first Glenelg Libraries author event of 2024 at the Portland Library on Monday, April 8, at 11am.
