RFDS windfall from cake queens’ donation

The South Eastern Cake Designers have handed over their annual Christmas donation and the Royal Flying Doctor Service was the selected 2023 charity.

Every year, the community group’s Christmas function doubles as a fundraiser with the club opting to donate to charity rather than the traditional Kris Kringle gift giving.

Each member places a donation and the name of their favourite charity in an envelope and then the pooled donations go to the charity that is randomly selected out of a draw.

The club meets on the third Monday of each month from February to November and the first meeting of 2024 is on February 19 at 7pm.

The South Eastern Cake designers meet at the Mount Gambier Show Society committee room with entry from Pick Avenue and new members are always welcome.

The club will also be hosting a Cake Topper Workshop on February 24 with visiting demonstrator Rhonda Morris, from Victoria.

The workshop is a 9am arrival for an 8.30am start with further details and registration available by contacting June Jones on 0438 234 978 or emailing [email protected] with RSVP required by February 14.

Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided.
