NOT many names are more synonymous with Penola Netball Club than Sally Skeer and the Eagles icon celebrated her 300th game by once again being named best in what was the club’s historic first appearance in the Limestone Coast Football Netball League.

Sally’s resume has no peer at McCorquindale Park as she has impacted both on and off the court.

Her list of A Grade individual accolades includes 13 best and fairest awards at club level, along with several runner-up finishes, two A Grade KNTNA league best & fairest honours, and a league most consistent title.

She has consistently been a top performer in the KNTNA league, frequently appearing in the top 10 rankings and earning a spot in the league’s Team of the Year on five occasions.

Sally has also proudly represented KNT at the Country Championships multiple times and was awarded A Reserve league runner up and club best and fairest last year.

Exceptional speed, agility, precision passing, and an unwavering competitive spirit have all been the hallmarks of Sally’s career.

She was a proud member of the first ever A Grade Penola netball premiership in 2021, and was there again to help the team get over the line in 2023 and she has taken the reins for the 2025 season in a playing coach capacity.

Sally’s impact extends far beyond her personal achievements – she has always commanded respect from teammates, opponents, and officials alike.

Her contribution to the Penola Netball Club goes beyond her on-court performances; her commitment to the club’s growth and success has been equally remarkable.

Sally has held various senior coaching roles and served on the committee for more than 10 years, including two terms as president.

Her greatest passion, though, lies in nurturing the next generation of netballers.

As a devoted junior coach, Sally has shared her wisdom and experience with countless young players.

She has also taken on the role of Junior Coaching Coordinator to ensure the future of junior development and performance of our junior coaches are in good hands.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Sally was honoured with life membership in 2019.
