Sponsorship boosts seniors health
The Exercise group at U3A Mount Gambier is extremely grateful to the Mount Gambier Bendigo Community Bank for allowing the group to keep moving courtesy of a generous sponsorship.
The group began during the COVID pandemic as a means of enabling older people to overcome the social isolation of the time. Physical issues such as weight gain, muscle loss, respiratory issues, arthritis and osteoporosis were also considered.
Health objectives of the Mount Gambier City Council and the South Australian government were also taken into account.
Qualified instructor Marissa leads the group with her perfect blend of exercise within the participants’ limit, as well as extending their capabilities.
Body Fit training manager Stu Harvey has also supported the group, allowing them to use the Mount Gambier gym’s facilities.
This has been a popular group for existing members and attracting those new to the many resources of U3A. New members are welcome to join at 11am Mondays and 11.15 am Wednesdays at BFT, Commercial St Mount Gambier.
