State coffers open for community projects

The grants will support projects that can start within six months and can be completed within two years from execution of funding agreement.

The State Government has opened a new round of the Enabling Infrastructure Program, with a further $5 million available for grants of between $50,000 and $1 million for projects that strengthen regional communities.

Part of the $15 million Thriving Regions Fund, the program is aimed at building strong regional communities through supporting infrastructure projects that improve quality of life or attract and retain people and business in our regions.

The first round of the Enabling Infrastructure Grants Program saw eight significant projects across South Australia’s regions offered grants between $230,000 and $1 million.

Eligible applicants, including, Local Government Authorities, Statutory Authorities, charities, businesses, and co-operatives, can submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for significant projects that meet the needs of their region.

Round One grant offers totalled $5.07 million for projects that ranged from worker accommodation supporting critical seasonal roles, childcare facilities, health, and education centres as well as community and sports facilities.
