Students rock Shakespeare
After months of dedication and hard work, the Year 6 students of St Martins Lutheran College took to the stage at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre on the 19th and 20th of September, delivering memorable performances of Shakespeare Rocks!—a fresh, humorous, and modern take on the life of William Shakespeare.
From the start of the school year, students rehearsed twice a week for 90-minute sessions, honing their acting, singing, and dancing skills. The musical journey spanned three terms, with regular music lessons and dance practice playing a vital role in preparing the students for the big stage.
The grand finale, a Friday night show open to the public, showcased not only their talent but also the joy and friendship that flourished throughout the production process.
Year 6 Teacher Sandra Halleday reflected on the students’ efforts, saying:
“The Year 6 musical is always a special part of the school calendar, offering students the chance to grow in confidence and experience the magic of theatre.”
