Unique telling of Easter story
“ABSOLUTLY amazing. Really worth seeing. Well done!” This was a response from someone who came and saw The John Drama last year, when it was presented just before Easter.
Yet another person said, “What an amazing and powerful performance. Could not keep a dry eye. Hope you repeat again next year.”
Well, there is good news – the John Drama Committee are doing The John Drama again this year.
It will be presented in the Town Hall as a free community event on Saturday, April, 5 at 7pm, followed by supper, and again on Sunday, Apri 6l, at 3pm, followed by afternoon tea.
The John Drama is a theatre-in-the-round drama presentation of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ as recorded by John, one of his disciples.
It is produced and directed by Wycliffe Australia, but all the drama roles and support teams are sourced locally.
The Naracoorte group consists of local people, some younger and some older, representing eight local churches.
They have enjoyed coming together regularly to discuss and plan how the drama will be presented.
For those involved last year, it has certainly been a little easier second time around, but about half of the cast are doing it for the first time, which is a great opportunity for them.
The John Drama Committee are looking forward to sharing this drama event again with the community of Naracoorte.
If last year is anything to go by, the seats will fill up very quicklly, so, if you didn’t get to see it last year, make sure you are not late.
It is a wonderful way to remember what Easter is all about and why it is worth celebrating.
