Wellbeing Festival digs deep for the homeless
It was a learning experience for the committee members present as Trish and Kelly explained the practical requirements of a homeless person so the right purchases were delivered.
The Health Harmony & Happiness Inc committee was grateful to the helpful staff at BCF in putting together the donation and everyone at Anglicare was grateful for the donation of gear as they work to assist up to 500 homeless local people.
Health Harmony & Happiness Inc committee member Heather Gibbons said figures like that in our community was shameful.
“On a day when there was thunder and lightning, a howling wind and rain coming in horizontally, it was a great reminder that the committee’s efforts would assist some more people to have something as a basic need for shelter,” she said.
The Heath Harmony & Happiness committee holds two festivals each year in Robe in June and January with the next event on January 9 and 10 next year and head to Robe to enjoy the experiences offered by stallholders.
