Limestone Coast organisations can apply for a grant of up to $2460 for a charitable project that benefits the community courtesy of the Stand Like Stone Foundation’s Friends Champion Grant.

The grants program was established by the Friends of Stand Like Stone – a group of individuals and organisations that financially support the Stand Like Stone Foundation.

Stand Like Stone CEO Roger Babolka said a key aspect of this initiative was the ability to not only enable the local community support the on-going operations of the foundation, but also enable an annual grant to be given out each year, called the Friends Champion Grant.

Applications for the third allocation of the Friends Champion Grant are now open and close Wednesday, June 26 at 5pm.

“We’re pleased to be offering a Champion grant of up to $2460, which is open to not-for-profit groups located in, or providing services to the Limestone Coast,” Mr Babolka said.

Last year the successful applicant for the Friends Champion grant was Foodbank SA on the Limestone Coast.

Foodbank was successful in securing a grant of almost $3000 that assisted with the purchase of a pallet jack with a scissor-lift feature, to improve efficiencies as well as improve the work-health safety conditions for their volunteers.

“Initiatives such as the Friends of Stand Like Stone enables us to respond to the needs of the people and communities of this region, ensuring local projects receive the support they deserve,” Mr Babolka said.
