The Adelaide 36ers are set to return to Mount Gambier for an NBL pre-season hit out but it will be a clash with a difference at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre.

The previous pre-season matches have been between two NBL teams, finetuning ahead of the season proper, but on Thursday, September 11, the new look 36ers will be taking on an NBL1 South Select team – basically an All Star line‑up of the best talent the NBL1 South has to offer.

It is the third consecutive season the Adelaide team has brought its pre-season campaign to Mount Gambier and there will be some top NBL talent on show – none more so than multi‑MVP and championship winning star Bryce Cotton. Former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell will also no doubt provide his share of highlights.

Pioneers Basketball Club president Tom Kosch was thrilled to be providing top flight basketball again to local fans.

“The Pioneers are hugely excited and appreciative of the opportunity to host the Adelaide 36ers, the third consecutive year that our club has hosted the NBL club in Mount Gambier,” Kosch said. “We are also excited for the new look of the game this season against an NBL1 Select team that will showcase some of the best NBL1 talent coming up against a star‑studded Adelaide 36ers line up only one week before the 2025/26 NBL season tips off.”

A number of corporate offerings will be made available to all looking to elevate their game night experience and club partners and sponsors will be offered first right of refusal on their corporate seating.

Pioneers Basketball Club members will get first right of refusal on their reserved seating with general admission tickets going on sale on August 11 at 5 pm.
