Blue Lake hosts golf veterans

A big field of 73 South East Golf Veterans turned up at the Blue Lake Golf Club course in perfect weather, but there was only one outstanding score, 38, in Division 1, by new member Doug Reid on his first outing. He had a really good day collecting coins from all the Attamurra players, as well as the winners prize. Runner up was Terry Chant with 36 from Mark Pilmore 35, both Millicent lads, counting out Barry Turnbull of Bordertown.

Second Division went to Richard Benyon, Millicent, with 36 from Allan Webster 35 and Naracoorte’s lone rep, Bob Davies 34.

The NTPs were Bill Mullan and John Millhouse and the Ross Orchard Trophy was won by Penola’s Billy Cheers and Ken Clarke, Port MacDonnell. The ball rundown was to 31 or better.

The next game is March 17 and is the AGM at the Mount Gambier course in an Ambrose format, followed by Naracoorte on March 31.
